Race Regulations

Rules, deadlines and mandatory equipment for Šediváčkův long 2027.

Bivak

Assistance to racers by other persons (dog handlers) is not permitted at the bivak. Failure to observe this ban will result in the racer's disqualification from the race.

Dog check-in

Veterinary check-in and inspection of race passports for purebred dogs (per FISTC) by 26 January 2027, 16:00. Dogs that have not been checked will not be admitted to the start.

Mandatory vaccination

Rabies, basic vaccination. Vaccination against kennel cough is recommended but not mandatory.

Entry fee

200 km 3,100 CZK (130 EUR)
300 km 3,600 CZK (150 EUR)
Tour 3,100 CZK (130 EUR)

The 300 km category will only be started if at least 10 racers register, and it is open to teams of 5 or more dogs.

Entries in the Tour category are charged the same entry fee as the 200 km distance.

Registration fee

The registration fee (1/2 of the entry fee) is paid in advance as a deposit. The other half is paid on site.

The deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable. Registration is valid only once the registration fee has been paid. If the race is cancelled, the deposit is not refunded and cannot be carried over to the following year.

Registration deadline

7 January 2027. Registration will only be accepted once the registration fee has been paid.

Stake out

At the Kristýna guesthouse in Jedlová in the Orlické hory mountains.

Accommodation

Each racer arranges their own accommodation at local guesthouses and hotels – www.destne.cz.

Total stage distance

200 km and 300 km.

Mandatory load

7 kg per dog, maximum 70 kg (depending on snow conditions).

Mandatory sled equipment

  • Dog booties – 4 per dog
  • Dog food – 1 feed ration per dog upon arrival at the finish
  • Spare harnesses – 2 pcs
  • Spare collar – 2 pcs
  • Complete spare towlines matching the team size
  • Bowls
  • First-aid kit
  • Stove + pot (1 litre capacity per dog)
  • Coats for all pointer-type dogs
  • Sled bag with transport space for 2 dogs (teams over 6 dogs), for 1 dog (teams up to 6 dogs)
  • Stake out
  • Food for the musher
  • Complete spare clothing for the musher
  • Tent or tarp
  • Sleeping bag, sleeping mat
  • Orientation aids
  • Map, compass or GPS
  • Personal identification – passport
  • A good headlamp with a runtime of at least 5 hours + spare batteries
  • Tie-out line at least 3 m long
  • Sled equipped with a functional brake, brake mat, safety line and two anchors (teams over 6 dogs) / one anchor (teams up to 6 dogs). Chain brakes on sleds for teams of 6 or more dogs.

LT1 Categories highlighted here can be entered for the FISTC European Championship.

The Czech National Championship for categories Pulka, LT1, LB and LT2 is the Šediváčkova 200. For categories LTO and LU it is the Šediváčkova 300.

A maximum of 12 dogs per team is allowed.

Skiering

Special equipment and support as determined by the organizers – for experienced racers only.

Bike

Equipment and support as determined by the organizers.

Time limit

The time limit will always be specified in good time before the start.

Race schedule
